Description: BGS GeoScour provides a river scour susceptibility model for Great Britain using a three-tiered data provision allowing increasing levels of understanding at different resolutions from catchment to local (channel/reach) scales. The Catchment_Stability layer is part of a suite of 12 GIS layers, organised into three different levels (Tiers 1, 2 and 3), focussing on the natural characteristics and properties of catchment and riverine environments. This layer belongs to Tier 1, which is based on the large scale water management plan catchment areas across Great Britain. Tier 1 catchment stability data layer was developed as a high-level summary by identifying the glacial limits and quaternary history, attributing typical characteristic behaviours and management considerations using expert elicitation, quaternary domains data, and glacial extents.
