AUTHOR_STATEMENT: Original geological survey at 1:10 560 scale by C.T. Clough, E.H. Cunningham Craig, E.B. Bailey, E.M. Anderson, T.O. Bosworth and J.E. Richey. Published as parts of 1: 63 360 scale sheets 35 (Colonsay) and 43 (lona) in 1911 and 1925 respectively. Present edition compiled by A.L. Harris (University of Liverpool) and A.J. Highton (BGS) from new work, with the basalt areas and Quaternary derived from the original survey, with minor modification. New material derived from the following sources: Iona - F.M. Fraser (University of St. Andrews), A.L. Harris, R.H. Hunter, G.J. Potts, (University of Liverpool) and N.M.S. Rock (BGS Edinburgh). Ross of Mull Granite - A.L. Harris, R.E. Holdsworth, R.H.
