AUTHOR_STATEMENT: Original geological survey at 1:63 360 scale by W.T. Aveline, H.T. de la Beche, J. Phillips, and A.C. Ramsay. Published as part of Old Series sheets 41 and 57 between 1845 and 1857. In the south-west of the district, parts of the Teifi valley and its tributaries were resurveyed at the 1:10 000 scale by J.R. Davies, R.A. Waters and D. Wilson in 1995-7 as part of the Afon Teifi Catchment Survey partly funded by Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire,Pembrokeshire and former Dyfed county councils and Environment Agency (Wales). A small area in the north of the district was surveyed at 1:10 000 scale by C.J.N. Fletcher and D.G. Woodhall in 1987-1990. Remaining parts of the district were surveyed at 1:10 000 scale by J.A. Aspden, J.R. Davies, D.I. Schofield, T.H. Sheppard, R.A. Waters and D. Wilson in 2002-4 as part ofthe GeoCymru Project supported by a grant from the Welsh Assembly Government.Biostratigraphy by M.
